As I correctly understand, the chief aim of this topic is English improvement. So, I guess that we should help each other in the effort to improve our English. And if here we use only written Eglish, we should correct each other, otherwise communication between us in Eglish doesn`t make no sense at all. It`s quite another matter which verbal form we use correcting smb.... If it`s freindly we`ll be always ready to take it....))

Я против что бы кто-то правил чьи-то ошибки. И не только потому что лично мне хватает репетитора, а и потому что главная причина почему многие из нас не говорят на английском- это не знания грамматики и не словарный запас- это барьер, который надо разрушить свободным общением.

Прогрессивные преподаватели (а не замшелые школьные училки) сейчас говорят, что надо начинать говорить без грамматики, грамматика "наложится" потом. Главное начать говорить, войти в языковой поток.

Когда мой муж (свободно говорящий на нескольких иностранных языках) случайно стал свидетелем нашего урока с предыдущим репетитором- он ей в тот же день запретил со мной заниматься. Он был в шоке от того, что она меня постоянно перебивала и поправляла , не давая говорить и только усугубляя ситуацию.

Сейчас у меня прекрасный репетитор. Мы не учим темы про Лондон и птиц Америки, а говорим про моду и смотрим "Секс и город". И хоть мы занимаемся только месяц я поняла главное- владение языком должно доставлять удовольствие. Я сама обращаюсь за помощью по грамматике, когда не могу что-то сказать

Вы конечно, можете поступать по- своему, но поверьте если Вы здесь начнете править ошибки, даже в самой дружественной атмосфере- темы не будет!

Никого не хотела обидеть! Просто высказала свое мнение! Всем удачи!

По возможности буду заходить, общаться, и помогать, но ТОЛЬКО тому, кто хочет (пока я точно вижу, что это Незнайка ), а так никому навязываться не буду, не волнуйтесь

2.Еще скажу, что я согласна с Софой, в непринужденном общении ты выговариваешься, и перебивать действительно нельзя, так можно убить в человеке все желание. Но тот, кто дополнительно не занимается, а просто общается, может в итоге заучить неправильные фразы, а потом искоренить их сложнее, чем сразу. Поэтому, кому это нужно, читайте пункт 1.

Mirra, I can advise you to read English literature in original or to watch films without translation. Of course it's better to start with the easiest ones For example with tales & cartoons And also you may read the phrasebooks, it's very useful. And do not forget about grammar

Вообщем я вся такая любознательная, местность пытаюсь изучить именно не по музеям, а по людям - вообщем влезла я в эту черную культуру по самые уши - ну там песенки слушала, по клубам ходила (так сказать черным духом пропитывалась) и я всегда считала, что nigga - это очень большое оскорбление, и не территории США оно не используется (ну то есть конечно используется но только, что бы обидеть), а оказывается черные его на каждом шагу используют - а оскорбительным считается только из уст белого. Вообщем я у друга спросила - он сказал так. А вообще - не уверены - не говорите. Я серьезно думала - ну вот они все говорят и мне можно... оказалось что нет. Вообщем, век живи - век учись!!! А тема классная - спасибо девчонки!

At first I didn't want to write because my English isn't good enough and I feel a bit uncomfortable about it (just finishinng pre-intermediate level). But otherwise it's good chance to improve my skills)) at least I can read and understand all your messages so, I'll try to participate in conversations sometimes with pleasure.

Hey. I've been in your place and left a post))) Thanks for questions and an interest in me. By the way, please, read my diary from the end. I think, it's more interesting. I'm talking a lot about my culture shock there)))) So, one by one:

1. I haven't decided yet! I'm still thinking. I like to be here. We will see. I don't want to make long-term plans. In future the most important thing to me is to finish my education (I have 1 year left).

2. I like to study here. It's not too bad. Usually, I have 3 classes per semester. It's. Also I work here as a graphic desinger and director's assistant on our TV studio, and Russian Instructor for elementary school students. I don't an area - it's pretty much rural area, but I like big sities. Now I'm in Indianapolis. Indy is cool. I like to be here! It's not so huge like Chicago, but clean and nice. I would like to live here. But, I'm a traveller - it's my way to live - to see as much as possible. I have not made a conclusion where I want to settle down. Indy is exciting though. 
3. Now i'll talk about a nature around. It' was funny first time when I came to Mississippi. I thought it's all about jungle!!! Not at all - there are huge trees, high humidity, very high temperature. Let's imagine a hot temperature in Siberia. No snow, no ice, no season's changes... I don't really like it. But much better than Far East, where I am from.

4 About my interests I can talk a lot! I love to cook healthy food!!! Dance, hanging out (I'm crazy about it), clubbing, shopping)))) I cann't say that I love black music (it's not only RAP, HIP-HOP but also RNB, BLUES, JAZZ). I like dancing music because I like to dance))

I have a suggestion!! Let's describe our emotion or whatever. Doesn't matter! Just be around and share our souls and bodies)))!

For example, I was watching a movie. It's "Trasnporter-2". I am just taking a break to leave this small post)) But I like this guy))) No, not because of his car! Russian woman )) no, how did she say: "Not Russian, Ukranian"... doen't matter. Girl from the USSR ))) The idea is the same like in Agent 007 "Quantum of solace"... but the actor is better, and quality is better at all! It's always cool to re-watch favorite movies... Summer... So sounds nice))) I'm gonna work for this summer till  August, 14 then go back to Mississippi. It's time to get some money))) I'm comfortable with that: enjoing my life in a big city, doing nothing.
